On July 14, 2011 Studio Bernoni came to an important milestone in its history: its 50th Anniversary.
Giuseppe Bernoni, founder and managing partner, together with the partners of the firm, welcomed staff and guests at Villa Necchi-Campiglio in Milan to celebrate this unique event.
An internal meeting with all partners and staff at a nearby location was followed by a cocktail reception in the garden of the Villa, with the possibility for all attendees to freely visit the house which dates back to the 30s.
The venue is part of the Historic House Museums network and is supported by FAI, Fondo Ambiente Italiano, a primary National not-for-profit organization aimed at preserving Italian cultural, artistic and environmental heritage.
Prior to the event, during the staff meeting, Bernoni said: “There is still a long way to go to improve quality and reach excellence. Nonetheless, it is somehow exciting to have a look in the rearview mirror and see how - starting almost with no contacts or means - we have come to this day. This is just a first step and there is still a lot to do. Discovering which is the best route to move forward and how to drive along it is in our hands only.”
“Indeed, like for sport achievements, the hardest part is keeping up the high standards reached.
To continue growing we need to work hard and act cohesively as a team: everyone’s collaboration is ever more essential! ” was the comment of Alessandro Dragonetti, partner and head of tax.
The dinner itself was a memorable experience, with 230 guests celebrating such an important milestone!
During the dinner, several speeches and toasts took place: the budget and finance councilor of the Municipality of Milan, Mr. Bruno Tabacci, expressed his congratulations for a firm that is so vibrant with enthusiasm and that is deeply involved in the town development; long-time employees were rewarded with a golden bar for their precious collaboration in helping the firm grow, and this was extremely touching for most of those present.
In addition to this, Giuseppe was also presented with a prestigious medal by a representative of the Senate of the Italian Republic, Mrs. Maria Pia Garavaglia, for all the institutional commitments undertaken in his profession, with special thanks to Studio Bernoni for giving so many young people the possibility to launch their career and expand their horizons.
In recognition of his leading and teambuilding skills and his ability to drive the firm and navigate the complex Italian business environment through all these years, Bernoni received an antique ship’s compass from all his people.
The reason for this present was clearly motivated by Giulio Tedeschi, partner and PHB expert, in his closing speech: "like a sailor master, Giuseppe had - and still has - the ability to look beyond, as he had the intuition to create an associated firm when nobody else did and to join Grant Thornton, as he believed in its international capability".
